Nine years ago, following some incidents at Buck Shaw, the head of the Quakes security at that time wanted to ban the Galaxy fans from future games in NorCal. We strongly opposed that decision and eventually reversed it. It’s detrimental to any rivalry game to be played with only one set of supporters present.
The Galaxy FO refused to sell us tickets for Saturday’s game. It shows how clueless they are about the passion that makes this game one of the oldest and best rivalries in the league and it’s an example of why this league is still being seen as plastic and artificial by many soccer fans around the world.
